Am I a good candidate for rhinoplasty?
You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty if you are in good overall health, you do not smoke, and your face has finished growing.
What is the rhinoplasty procedure like?
Rhinoplasty is usually an outpatient procedure performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia.
Dr. Jejurikar uses one of two techniques when performing nose surgery: open and closed rhinoplasty. At your consultation appointment you and Dr. Jejurikar will decide which of the two techniques is appropriate for your surgery. Either way, Dr. Jejurikar will gently lift the soft tissues covering the nose and sculpt the bone and cartilage into the desired shape, close the incision and apply a sterile dressing.
How about the recovery process?
You may experience puffiness, an achy nose or a dull headache, some swelling and bruising, bleeding or stuffiness. Most patients feel like themselves within two or three days and return to work within about a week.
Dr. Jejurikar will be happy to consult with you personally to address any of your questions or concerns. To schedule an appointment with Dr. Jejurikar or for more information about our services, please contact our office directly at 214.827.2814.
